Mr Baritone has returned from a Queensland winter campaign in fine fettle and trainer Mike Moroney says a slow track brings him into Saturday's Bletchingly Stakes at Caulfield with a good chance.

The Stravinsky gelding has had a 35-day freshen up since running seventh to Lucky Luna in the Listed Glasshouse Hcp (1400m) at the Sunshine Coast on June 27.

"He was still looking and going really well in Queensland and we just gave him 10 days out there and brought him down to Melbourne and thought we'd hit while he's still fit and the rest are on the way up hopefully," Moroney said.

"The slow track gives him his chance, probably on top of the ground at 1200 metres they could go a bit quick for him but with the rain it has brought him back into it."

Mr Baritone raced well in four Queensland runs with his best efforts a close third to Ortensia and Bletchingly rival Maxisun in the Group Two QTC Cup (1300m) at Eagle Farm on May 30 and a solid fourth to Black Piranha in the Group One Stradbroke Hcp (1400m) at the same track on June 6.

Glen Boss, who hadn't ridden Mr Baritone before jumping aboard him at his past two starts, has stuck with the rising eight-year-old who has had 15 outs since the latest of his eight wins in last year's Stradbroke when sent out at $31 and ridden by Sebastian Murphy.

But since then he has put in some good performances such as his 1-1/4 length sixth to Typhoon Zed in last year's Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley and 1-1/2 length fifth to Danleigh in the All-Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Anzac Day, both at the highest level.

Trainer Peter Morgan is confident that lightly raced four-year-old I Am Invincible, who beat Gran Sasso by a half-head in the Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) first-up despite missing the start by two lengths at Caulfield on July 18, will handle the extra trip on Saturday.

As a two-year-old, I Am Invincible ran last to Meurice in the Group Two Todman Stakes at Rosehill while his only other run at 1200m was a length second to Takeover Target in the Group One The Goodwood at Morphettville two starts back on May 2.

"I think the 1200 metres at Morphettville is probably harder than the 1200 metres at Caulfield. You need a good 1400-metre horse to win a good 1200-metre race at Morphettville, so I think the 1200 metres at Caulfield should suit him," Morgan said.

The Invincible Spirit entire, who has won five of his 11 starts including three of his last four, likes Caulfield where he is unbeaten in two starts at 1000m and 1100m.

I Am Invincible is $2.40 favourite with TAB Sportsbet ahead of Group One Robert Sangster Stakes winner Bel Mer ($3.30), Group One Rupert Clarke Stakes winner Orange County ($5.50) with Maxisun at $10 and Mr Baritone next best at $13.
