Veteran sprinter Morgan Dollar will line up at the same Moonee Valley meeting for the fourth year in a row as he chases a win that has eluded him for more than three years.

The seven-year-old Adelaide sprinter made the journey across the border again on Thursday in preparation for Saturday's Listed Printhouse Graphics Stakes (1000m).

Morgan Dollar has always performed well at Moonee Valley's August meeting with a second in a similar race last year and a third in 2009.

He also finished second in the 2008 McEwen Stakes when it was the premier race on the card.

Those three runs are among nine minor placings Morgan Dollar has had in his last 20 starts without a win.

His last success was Adelaide's Listed Dermody Stakes in July 2008.

But trainer Stuart Gower has never given up hope that Morgan Dollar, who won four of his first 13 runs, would salute again.

"He has been very consistent without winning," Gower said.

"I am very happy with him going into Saturday's race and he does love the Valley.

"He is nice and fresh, loves it a little bit wet, and is drawn well in barrier six."

Morgan Dollar has competed at the elite level at various time in his career and notably was beaten lese than a length when fourth in the 2009 Oakleigh Plate.

Gower said Saturday's assignment was planned for Morgan Dollar before his last-start fourth to Elusive Touch in a heat of the All Victorian Sprint Series (1000m) at Flemington on June 25.

It will also be his first run at the Valley since suffering a bleeding attack and finishing last in the McEwen Stakes last September.

Gower said Morgan Dollar had come back well this year and after a Group Three third to Avenue in the Irwin Stakes at Morphettville in March almost broke through at Caulfield two starts ago when beaten a half-length by Secret Flyer at Caulfield.

"He always seems to find one better than him but hopefully it is his turn on Saturday," Gower said.

Morgan Dollar has firmed from $13 to $11 with TAB Sportsbet while the plunge horse is the Peter Moody-trained Kulgrinda, in from $4 to $2.40 after Thursday's scratching of Group One placegetter and last-start Flemington winner Warm Love.

Johnnydrama is also out of the field.

Definitely Ready remains a solid second pick in the market. He drifted to as much as $4.20 but has firmed to his opening quote of $3.40.
