A braver and bolder Mimi Lebrock posted her second feature win for the spring when she landed Saturday's Group Two Tristarc Stakes at Caulfield.

Trainer Bart Cummings tried her in blinkers for the first time after she was reluctant to stretch out with horses around her at Flemington last start and the gear change allowed her to take her earnings above $1 million.

She was helped by jockey Michael Rodd who on Saturday gave her plenty of galloping room on the outside of other runners.

Rodd said Mimi Lebrock was a different horse as she unwound a strong run around the home turn and scored by 1-1/4 lengths from Tan Tat De Lago with Absolutelyfabulous a neck away third.

"She is quite a big mare and was claustrophobic last time," Rodd said.

Last start In the Blazer Stakes at Flemington, Rodd had to check Mimi Lebrock approaching the 100 metres but Cummings said the blinkers meant that experience had no impact on Saturday.

"They made the difference," Cummings said.

"They made her feel safer and he (Rodd) kept her off the rail which helped."

Mimi Lebrock has now won five of her 14 starts.

Last month she won the Group Three Let's Elope Stakes (1400m) at Flemington and she will return there for the Group One Myer Classic (1600m) for fillies and mares on November 1.

"She is a lovely mare, a good looker and always tries her hardest," Cummings said.

"It (the Myer Classic) is a nice race for her and hopefully she can run well."
