Gillian Heinrich had no luck with the barrier draws for Wednesday's Eagle Farm meeting but the Gold Coast trainer did have reason to smile when unbeaten Magic Millions winner Military Rose worked on Tuesday morning.

"She worked over a half-mile (800m) this morning and was really on her toes," Heinrich said.

"She'll probably head to Sydney around the 10th of March and then run in Sydney on the 20th of March (in the Reisling Slipper Trial).

"She's put on about 14kg so she's probably going to need that run in Sydney before the Golden Slipper but she doesn't seem to have lost too much fitness-wise judging by her work today."

Heinrich has six runners engaged at Eagle Farm on Wednesday including two first starters - Rushcutters Bay and Wanted Man - in the Subiaco Handicap (1000m) for two-year-olds.

"They have trialled alright without being outstanding," Heinrich said.

"With two-year-olds I like them to draw from barrier four in but these two have drawn a little awkward (in seven and nine respectively).

"I've got to get them going though and Stathi (Katsidis) is on Wanted Man and Dan (Griffin) is on Rushcutters Bay so we'll hope for the best."

Wanted Man has trialled twice including finishing fourth of five on a heavy track at Doomben over 960m on February 10.

Rushcutters Bay finished third in the same trial.

The same problem is facing Heinrich's first starter Mr Harmony in the TCL Electronics Maiden (1200m) who has drawn barrier 13 in the field of 14.

Mr Harmony has shown some ability at the trials, winning at the Gold Coast over 1000m in April last year.

He then wasn't seen again until produced at the trials earlier this month.

Mr Harmony finished second, beaten a long head, in a 1000m heat behind Cousine Island on February 2.

"I haven't drawn a good gate with any runner on Wednesday. With first starters you like them to draw well so his task will be more difficult from out there," Heinrich said.

Sand Ruler is set to resume in the Ormiston College Handicap (1200m) at his first start since October 2008.

The five-year-old finished second in a recent 1000m barrier trial at the Gold Coast.

Sand Ruler won a Class One over 1200m at the Gold Coast by 3-1/2 lengths the last time he raced more than 16 months ago.

Meanwhile, Heinrich said her star three-year-old Sweepstaking would not line up in Saturday's Group Two Hobartville Stakes at Rosehill and would be kept for the Surround Stakes at Warwick Farm on March 6.

Sweepstaking finished third to More Joyous and Trim in the Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on February 13.

"I know she'll run into More Joyous in the Surround but it is against her own age and sex," Heinrich said.

"I'm really happy with her."
