Grahame Begg says he has been forced to run debutante Military Blonde out of her grade in the Silver Slipper, but also says she is a filly with enormous potential.

Military Blonde was one of four horses made emergencies when they were balloted out of a two-year-old fillies race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday when the field was restricted to 11 runners because of the rail placement.

A furious Begg said it was ridiculous there were no other options but to run her in Saturday's Group Two race.

"I don't like running horses out of their grades but I'm forced to do it," he said.

"There are so few races for her and it would have been so much better if they had divided the race.

"There's a colts and geldings race at Randwick today (Friday) with only six runners.

Military Blonde is one of two runners for Begg in the Group Two Silver Slipper (1100m) at Rosehill with the more experienced Mafia Miss also in the mix.

Mafia Miss has been runner-up at her two starts, when second to Gybe in the Gimcrack Stakes in October and second to Silver Slipper rival Georgette Silk in the Widden Stakes.

Although Begg doesn't want to race them against each other, he says comparisons between the two are favourable.

"Military Blonde has held her own all the way through but it's a very, very tall order running in a Group race your first start in a race," he said.

"It's not the done thing but we've been left with no alternative."

Punters have not been put off with Military Blonde receiving plenty of attention, coming in to $21 on Friday after opening at $35 with TAB Sportsbet.

Chance Bye is the dominant favourite following her two wins in races restricted to yearlings sold at William Inglis and Son auctions.

Although she has earned $340,000, none of that counts towards a Golden Slipper start.

The winner of the Silver Slipper is an automatic starter in the $3.5 million race on Easter Saturday.

Begg has a line on Chance Bye through Ilovethiscity who finished second to the filly in the Inglis Classic.

"They went silly in front and he had no chance," he said.

"She is a smart filly but we have a big opinion of Ilovethiscity and with luck he could have been closer."

Mafia Miss was a $10 chance on Friday for the Silver Slipper and Begg rates her well against Georgette Silk.

"She has done very well," he said.

"I think both mine can run well but Chance Bye is obviously smart and has run time in her races."
