Trainer Mick Price has landed a double across two states after splitting his luck with stablemates Nakaaya and Luminous Harmony.

Price had both fillies engaged in Saturday's East Malvern Community Bank Cup (1400m) at Caulfield but relied on Nakaaya to get the job done while Luminous Harmony scored in Adelaide.

Ridden by Steven King who followed the advice of Price's form student George Vella to ride Nakaaya cold, she was with the backmarkers most the way.

At the top of the straight the Tiger Hill filly made her run with second-placed Pins Of Ice with only a short half-head splitting them on the line.

Perfect Hostess held on well to finish 1-1/4 lengths away third after leading on the home turn.

Nakaaya was a $60,000 Melbourne Premier yearling and joined the Price stable after her co-buyer and trainer Cliff Brown moved to Singapore.

She now races for the Greenwich Stud Syndicate whose manager Greg Perry also races the Price-trained Bel Mer in partnership.

Nakaaya was having only her third start on Saturday after winning her race debut at Ballarat and losing in a photo-finish at Wangaratta and Price said she needed a top ride to win.

"She needed a ten out of ten ride and she got it," Price said.

He said Nakaaya may train on over the summer but longer-term he has hopes for her to make into a stayer.

"I don't know how much fuel she has got in her tank, but I am happy to get away with today," he said.

"She is by a Danehill stallion and her third dam was Group One winner Princess Talaria so it is nice to think we might have some sort of staying filly next time in."

Price said he wanted to beat the second-up bogey with Luminous Harmony after she won easily first-up at Moe and felt the Pewsey Vale Handicap (1400m) at Morphettville was the better option for her on Saturday.

"It is a really bad statistic to win and try and win again up in class and distance," Price said.

"She drew 10 with 57kg here (at Caulfield) while in Adelaide the field was six lengths worse, she had a kilo less and was drawn five."

Luminous Harmony started odds-on at Morphettville and won by 3-1/2 lengths.

Price finished with a winning double at Caulfield after Marconi, ridden by Craig Newitt, romped home in the first race, the Acryn Plate (1000m).
