Love Conquers All sounded a warning to his spring rivals when he excelled at his first weight-for-age test in the Missile Stakes at Randwick.

The four-year-old showed a brilliant turn of foot in the straight to comfortably keep Group One winners Danleigh and Sniper's Bullet at bay.

Sent out the $1.75 favourite in the Group Three Missile (1200m) on the basis of his last-start June Stakes win over Hay List, Love Conquers All gave champion jockey Jim Cassidy no cause for concern.

Both Danleigh ($3.70) and Sniper's Bullet ($10) pleased their trainers but not as much as the winner thrilled Michael Hawkes who prepares him in partnership with his father John and brother Wayne.

"This was his first time at weight-for-age and a test for him," Hawkes said.

"It was the first sign to see where we are going with him.

"The George Main Stakes is what we are looking at.

"I think he will get 1600 metres. He's so adaptable it's not funny.

"He puts himself in the right spot.

"He is an athlete and all class."

Love Conquers All's spring campaign was interrupted by a slight virus and he did not make it to the Caulfield Guineas.

The Hawkes team elected to give him a two start autumn/winter campaign over sprint distances with the spring in mind.

Cassidy, who returned to riding this week after undergoing ankle surgery, said the Nick Moraitis-owned horse was a star in the making.

"He's beaten a couple of real good horses out there today, he's the real deal," he said.

"I gave him one little flick and only good horses lengthen and drop their neck like he does.

"He was a bit toey today and I could have led if I had wanted to but he didn't have to."

Chris Waller was happy with the performance of triple Group One winner Danleigh.

"Hugh (Bowman) said the ground was a bit shifty and he wasn't that comfortable," Waller said.

"It was a good effort heading towards the Warwick Stakes."

Tracey Bartley was also pleased with Sniper's Bullet and all three placegetters are likely to clash again in the Warwick Stakes (1400m) at Warwick Farm in two weeks.
