Owner Lloyd Williams will decide later in the week whether exciting three-year-old Linton will run in the Group One Futurity Stakes (1600m) at Caulfield.

Williams has also entered the grey in the Group Two Autumn Classic (1800m) but said the Galileo gelding might miss both races and run in the Group One Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington the following week or even be spelled without another autumn run.

"I couldn't tell you what we are going to do with him at this particular moment", Williams said.

"There are three options which are - running in the Guineas on Saturday week, running this Saturday or he could go for a spell.

"I have just got to see how he is and what he is doing so we will wait until later in the week and have a think about it."

Williams said if Linton ran this Saturday it would most probably be in the Futurity Stakes.

Linton's sire Reset, who was unbeaten in five starts, is the last three year-old winner of the Futurity.

Linton has raced three times and made a spectacular transition from a seven-length Cranbourne maiden win at his second start to a dominant 1-3/4 length victory over Take The Rap in the Group Two Alister Clark Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley.

"He has come through his last race quite well but he's only had three runs in his life and I need to make sure I have got a horse," Williams said.

"We are patient in this camp and just trying to work out whether Saturday's Futurity is the right race for him or perhaps the Guineas is the race that's right for him."

Only 10 horses have been entered for the Futurity which has three-time Group One winning mare Typhoon Tracy as its headline act after her first-up win in the Orr Stakes (1400m).

Damien Oliver has already been booked for Sniper's Bullet while Jason Waddell will ride New Zealander Lord Tavistock.

Saturday's Group Two St George Stakes winner La Rocket is also entered along with the Gai Waterhouse-trained Kilmore Cup winner Joku, Caulfield Cup placegetter Barbaricus and Hong Kong Group One placegetter Dao Dao from the Team Hawkes yard.

Caulfield trainer Mick Price has an affection for the Futurity Stakes but has all but given the away the idea of running three year-old filly Aloha this year.

"What's going to beat Typhoon Tracy," Price lamented.

"I don't need to run her (Aloha) in it and she can go around at Moonee Valley on Friday night," Price said.

Aloha is one of 15 fillies entered for the $200,000 Group Two Fillies Classic (1600m).

Rustic Dream gave Price his first Group One win in the 1999 Futurity Stakes and he has since had a series of placings in the weight-for-age event with Chattanooga (2nd, 2002), Vocabulary (2nd, 2004), Red Dazzler (2nd, 2006) and Light Fantastic (2nd, 2009) and Alamosa (3rd, 2009).

Price confirmed last start Hyderabad Race Club Stakes winner Velocitea would line up in the Listed JRA Stakes (1200m) which has attracted only nine entries.

Nominations for the Futurity and the JRA Stakes have been extended until Tuesday morning along with the entries for the Listed Victoria Gold Cup (12 noms), The Inglis Premier (12 noms), Open 1200m sprint (10 noms), and the Fillies and Mares Handicap (14 noms).
