Light Fantastic will get at least one more chance to add to his Group One tally this season when he lines up in the All-Aged Stakes on the final day of the Sydney autumn carnival.

The winner of last year's Australian Guineas at Flemington, the flashy grey has pleased trainer Mick Price since his unplaced run in the George Ryder Stakes won by Vision And Power at Rosehill on April 9 when he failed to handle the wet track.

Vision And Power subsequently franked that form with his slashing victory in Saturday's Doncaster Mile.

"He didn't handle the heavy track and at weight-for-age over 1500 metres it made it a tough test," Price said.

"He'll run in the All-Aged next Saturday and depending on whether he trains on I wouldn't mind taking him to Brisbane."

Price expects the drop back to 1400 metres in the All-Aged to suit the gelding who has scored two wins over the distance at Group Two level, including last year's Liston Stakes at Caulfield.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained Northern Meteor could be a surprise starter in the All-Aged following his gallant second to Takeover Target in the TJ Smith Stakes.

Raced by the Gooree Syndicate, the three-year-old was set to be retired following Saturday's race but his performance prompted connections to rethink those plans.

"We've left the door open to run in the All-Aged next Saturday," said Goree's Andrew Baddock.

"If he runs in that, that will be it, but on that run (in the TJ Smith) we're very tempted to run next Saturday.

"His effort was as good as a win. He was beaten by one of the best sprinters we've probably ever seen.

"We'll just see how he does and have a look at the weather."

Northern Meteor will stand at Widden Stud in the 2009 breeding season.

Gooree will also be strongly represented at Eagle Farm on the weekend with Gamble Me, who will also be retired to stud this spring, to tackle the Sir Byrne Hart Stakes while Rabbuka will line up in the Peter Gallagher Stakes (2100m).

The two are due to leave Waterhouse's stable on Monday.

Last year's All-Aged winner Racing To Win will defend his title with trainer John O'Shea and jockey Hugh Bowman expecting him to peak at the 1400 metres.

Racing To Win was among those run off his feet in Saturday's TJ Smith (1200m) and he finished fifth of the six runners.
