Mark Kavanagh is planning a light autumn campaign for star three-year-old Whobegotyou with a long range plan to race him overseas next year.

Kavanagh said the Caulfield Guineas winner would most likely have only three runs this autumn in order to get a well deserved break before an "ambitious" spring.

He said Whobegotyou, who hasn't raced since he was raging favourite and finished second to outsider Rebel Raider in the Victoria Derby, would resume in the Group Three C S Hayes Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on January 31.

The Group Two Autumn Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 21 would be his lead up to the Group One Australian Guineas (1600m) Flemington on March 7.

"He will run in the Australian Guineas and that may very well pull him up for the autumn," Kavanagh said.

"He's only three and you have got to look after them.

"He had only a month off after a winter campaign last year and another month after the Derby but if he has a light autumn he can have a good spell and fill out before having a decent crack at the spring."

Kavanagh said he was making "some pretty ambitious plans" for Whobegotyou in the spring but was reluctant to elaborate.

The Cox Plate, which Kavanagh won last year with Maldivian, was an obvious target while the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups also have to be in the mix.

Kavanagh said he had fielded interest from various clubs for Whobegotyou to race overseas.

"There have been three or four international clubs talking to us about doing something later on," Kavanagh said.

Among the possible 2010 destinations for Whobegotyou are Dubai, Royal Ascot and Hong Kong.

"Clubs are inviting us to come and the owners are keen to take him," Kavanagh said.

"He's got to stand up but if the wraps the press are putting on him are correct you never know what might happen."

Stablemate Dr Doute's is also being aimed at the Australian Guineas as well as the AJC Australian Derby (2400m) at Randwick in April.

The winner of the Carbine Club Stakes only had a light spring and is likely to resume in the Listed Wellington Racing Club Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 7.

On the same day, Cox Plate winner Maldivian may launch his Australian Cup campaign in the Group One Orr Stakes (1400m).

Kavanagh said the fact that Maldivian didn't stay when he ran in the Caulfield Cup probably ruled out aiming him for The BMW (2400m) in Sydney in the autumn.
