Kenny's World has connections excited about his chances in Saturday's Listed Lough Neagh Stakes at Doomben.

Trainer Graeme Murray and jockey Matthew Palmer believe the NSW south coast speedster has improved a couple of lengths since his recent Queensland debut.

The Kenny's Best Pal gelding comes into the $200,000 1350-metre feature after a fifth to frontrunner Burdekin Blues in the Group Three George Moore Stakes (1200m) at Doomben on December 5.

Since the run, Kenny's World has done nothing but please Murray and Palmer.

"All along we expected him to improve from that first run," Murray said.

"A lot of my horses do their major work on a Tuesday but he travelled up on a Tuesday morning and missed a gallop that day.

"Talking to Matty and looking at the horse I reckon he's improved two lengths, we're quietly confident."

Queensland-based Palmer has ridden Kenny's World several times before and won on him at Rosehill in December 2007.

"Matty knows the horse really well and he thinks the run the other day was enormous and said the horse was a fraction short of a run," Murray said.

"In the last few months Matty's been pushing horses around the tracks up here and he thinks this is the best one he's been on in a while."

Murray's father Bede bred Kenny's World who is out of the Mr Henrysee mare See The Stars.

The Kembla Grange trainer is glad he made the decision to bypass Sydney and take the horse north.

"The Razor Sharp at Randwick on Saturday looks a pretty tough race, there's some nice prizemoney up here and it's a bit easier for him," Murray said.

Kenny's World, who likes to race fairly close to the speed, has drawn barrier 13 of 18.

"A lot of the chances are drawn around us and I'm not too bothered about the barrier, it could have been worse," Murray said.

If he runs the big race that is expected from him, Kenny's World will then be aimed at the Listed $100,000 Goldmarket (1300m) at the Gold Coast on New Year's Day.

Kenny's World kicked off his career in November 2007 with a win on his home track.

He followed that up with another win at Kembla a month later before making it a hat-trick in his Sydney debut at Rosehill a week after that.

Two starts back he landed his seventh victory when he edged out Mount Verde over 1200 metres at Rosehill on November 14.

Kenny's World is yet to win beyond 1250 metres with six of his victories coming at 1200 metres or less.
