Sydney's pin-up mare Hot Danish will be given a crucial barrier trial at Rosehill on Tuesday to determine whether she presses on to Brisbane.

Regular rider Tim Clark will partner her in the 900 metre heat and trainer Les Bridge intends to give her a solid hitout.

"She will have to go along a bit to let me see where she's at," Bridge said.

"If she trials OK tomorrow and the weather looks good (in Brisbane) I will take her up."

Bridge has just one race in mind for Hot Danish in Queensland and that is the Group One Doomben 10,000 (1350m) on May 29.

She is second favourite for the feature sprint behind Ortensia but given her dislike of wet tracks, Hot Danish will only run if she gets suitable ground at Doomben.

Bridge said he would be keeping an eye on the weather forecast in the lead-up to the 10,000 and would wait until next week to take Hot Danish north.

The six-year-old has not raced since scoring a breakthrough Group One victory in the All Aged Stakes at Randwick on April 24.

She will have had more than a month between runs if she tackles the 10,000 but Bridge says the break is of no concern.

"It will be five weeks between runs which doesn't matter with her, she can do that," Bridge said.

"But she needed something in between and a trial will help me monitor her.

"After the Brisbane race she will have a little break and then we'll see what we get her ready for."

The All Aged Stakes was Hot Danish's eighth start at Group One level and her first victory.

Most of her previous attempts had been on rain-affected ground but she finally got a firm track at Randwick last month and showed what she could do.

While many mares of her vintage would be retired to stud after notching an elite win, Bridge said Hot Danish's connections were keen to keep her in work.

"I think they'll give her another season," he said.

"She is trying as hard now as she ever has."

Hot Danish won't be the only Group One winner on show at the Rosehill trials with the Royal Ascot-bound Alverta scheduled to contest the opening 1030m heat.
