Patinack Farm's confidence in Boys On Tour as the focal point of its Golden Rose challenge will be put to the test at Rosehill on Saturday.

Boys On Tour will take his place in the Group Three Run To The Rose - the main lead-up race to the $1 million Golden Rose on September 10.

He was one of 10 nominations on Monday in an entry list which, as expected, included dual Group One winner Helmet, San Domenico Stakes winner Foxwedge and the unbeaten Smart Missile.

Boys On Tour, who is a $35 chance to win the Golden Rose, has been left to carry Patinack hopes in the $1 million race.

Stablemate Pane In The Glass occupies the sixth line of Golden Rose betting at $15 after her winning return in the Silver Shadow Stakes but her Sydney spring racing will be kept to the Princess series.

"Boys On Tour has always been our number one pick for the Golden Rose," Patinack Farm racing manager Robyn Hartney said.

Christian Reith sticks with Boys On Tour after he rode the gelding for the first time in the San Domenico Stakes.

Finishing off his race impressively, Boys On Tour was beaten less than three lengths by Foxwedge.

"Christian actually rang and asked if he could keep the ride on him because he was that impressed with the way he raced," Hartney said.

Boys On Tour raced in two states during his juvenile season, winning a maiden race at Newcastle as well as finishing second in the Pago Pago Stakes at Rosehill.

"His first preparation was pretty arduous and we thought he did a fantastic job," Hartney said.

"Everyone at Randwick is saying he has improved a lot and how much more mentally switched on he is this preparation.

"All the signs are there that he is going to be competitive on Saturday."

Two fillies have been nominated - Helmet's stablemate Anise and last season's Magic Millions winner Karuta Queen.

In the absence of Sepoy, Helmet has been anointed as Darley's top seed for the Golden Rose.

The Sires' Produce and Champagne Stakes winner trialled at Warwick Farm 11 days ago in preparation for his return.

He is second favourite for the Golden Rose at $6 behind Smart Missile ($4).

Premier's Cup nominations are dominated by Robert Hickmott entries.

The Victorian trainer, who prepares Lloyd Williams's big string, has entered Alandi, At First Sight, Midas Touch, Mourayan and Tanby.
