Gerald Ryan probably won't get the chance to improve on his Blue Diamond Stakes record this year even if smart filly Hollyweird wins Saturday's Chairman's Stakes at Caulfield.

The daughter of Ryan's 2006 Oakleigh Plate winner Snitzel is not in the $1 million Blue Diamond (1200m) at Caulfield on February 26 due to her nomination, and that of three stablemates, not reaching the Melbourne Racing Club.

A late entry fee of $55,000 can be paid by February 21 but Ryan was not keen on that idea.

"They very rarely come off," the Rosehill trainer, who won Victoria's most prestigious juvenile event with Hurricane Sky (1994) and Paint (1996) when he was based in Melbourne, said.

A $140,000 purchase at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne last year, Hollyweird is from the same family as 2002 Australian Guineas and Futurity Stakes winner Dash For Cash.

She will be ridden for the first time by Damien Oliver in Saturday's Listed 1100m event.

"I sent her down as there wasn't much up here and I'm trying to get a bit of black type against her name early," Ryan said.

"I thought with the Blue Diamond Preludes on next week this might have been an easier race but it doesn't look that easy on paper."

Hollyweird is out for a hat-trick after winning a Gosford two-year-old maiden (1000m) at her second start on December 28 and then progressing to town to upset the highly-rated Glissade by 2-3/4 lengths over 1100m against fillies at Rosehill on January 15.

"She's just an honest little thing that's kept improving as she's gone along," Ryan said.

"I don't like comparing them but what she's shown at home she's nowhere near the beat of my two-year-olds.

"But at least she's been to the races and done it."

Ryan said Hollyweird could go on to the Talindert Stakes (1100m) at Flemington on February 19 or go home to get ready for the Black Opal Stakes (1200m) at Canberra on March 13.

Despite Hollyweird not being entered for the Blue Diamond, TAB Sportsbet is keeping her safe on the sixth line of betting at $14 behind the $3.80 favourite Sepoy.

The filly is $3.30 favourite for the Chairman's ahead of Commands colt Atomic, a first starter from the Lee Freedman stable, at $3.70 and Starcraft colt Cape Canaveral, a debutant from the Danny O'Brien yard, at $6.

Atomic, to be ridden by Ben Melham, has been a significant market mover, firming from his opening quote of $10.

He was not nominated for the Blue Diamond.

The 2010 Chairman's, run three weeks later last year, was won by Crystal Lily who went on to win the Golden Slipper.
