Winter is traditionally a quiet time for the David Hayes stable and it will be no different at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

The stable will saddle up just the one runner, Debt Demolition in the Echuca Workers and Services Club Hcp (1200m), but on form the two-year-old could come away with a win.

The Fastnet Rock gelding broke through for his first win in four starts when second-up from a spell over 1112m at Kilmore on June 4 when he defeated subsequent Flemington 1400m winner Hidden Symbol by a short half-head.

"I'd say he's earned his ticket to have a run in town based on the form from that race," Hayes' nephew and assistant trainer Tom Dabernig said.

"The other horse (Hidden Symbol) loomed up and had its chance to beat him but our horse fought back.

"He (Debt Demolition) certainly hasn't taken any backward steps. He's really healthy and well and if anything he's come on a bit.

"I'd assume he'd get around the Valley and we've had a lot of rain so the ground could be a bit of a query.

"He'll run well but he's not a Group or Listed horse."

Dean Holland, who won on Debt Demolition at Kilmore, retains the mount on Saturday.

The Moonee Valley track was rated a slow (7) on Wednesday.

Dabernig said the track at Hayes' newly-developed Lindsay Park training establishment at Euroa was now up and running.

"It's going really well and it's going to be full steam ahead now," he said.

"We've got rising two-year-olds coming through Angaston but all the racehorses are at Euroa and so we've got a fair portion in work there and obviously we've still got Flemington fully operational now as well, so the horses just filter through the two stables.

"Obviously the winter is a bit quiet for us.

"We've won with a couple in Adelaide (Pitt Street and Marmaa) this month who were looking for dry ground and we have another three going there this Saturday.

General Nediym colt Aashiq, runner-up to Arctic Command in the Group Three Maribyrnong Plate (1000m) at Flemington last spring, resumes over 1000m while stablemates Silky Smooth and Jalsah will also run at the Morphettville meeting.
