Halle Rocks will be looking to restore some faith at Moonee Valley after she tarnished her unbeaten record with a shock defeat last start.

Trainer Mick Price said he was forced to "eat humble pie" after she finished sixth to Instalment as the $2.25 favourite in the Listed MSS Security Stakes (1100m) at Flemington on March 10.

"I thought she was better than that," Price said.

"She got into a little bit of a tight spot there but didn't have a lot of excuses.

"I might have overrated her a bit but I still think she is good enough to win a black-type race at some stage."

Price said a gear change and adjustment back in distance to 1000 metres at Moonee Valley should give Halle Rocks the ammunition to bounce back in Saturday's Meadownick Laser Eye Surgery Sprint.

He said the wide gate wasn't ideal but with good speed it may not be a problem.

"She will have blinkers first time and back to 1000 metres around the valley should suit her," he said.

"She has drawn 13 but there looks to be good speed in the race with Snitzem two inside her and Vatican there as well.

"Hopefully she can tag Snitzem across and get in behind them to have the last run."

Halle Rocks won her first three starts by a total of nearly eight lengths and is $3 favourite with TAB Sportsbet to add to her winning record, ahead of Snitzem who has firmed from $4.40 to $4.

Price also has a good opinion of stablemate Tres Vite who has been backed from $6.50 to $4.50 after an impressive debut win at Werribee.

He said he would have preferred a more gradual progression to Saturday class with her and is wary about her being drawn in the inside barrier.

"I would like to see her win but experience might be against her at her second start," Price said.

"She is pretty smart but she was a bit slow out at Werribee and from barrier one on Saturday she needs to jump with them to put herself there to have a chance."

Flemington trainer Mike Moroney also has similar reservations about $26 chance Revidere after he also couldn't find an easier fillies race for her.

The daughter of Redoute's Choice is having her third race campaign after failing on debut at Sandown and winning first-up at Seymour in November.

"The distance suits but we have really thrown her in the deep end here," Moroney said.
