Wins by Tameer and Rightfully Yours at Flemington confirmed both will be tested at Group One level this spring.

The David Hayes-trained Tameer earned herself a start in next month's Thousand Guineas with her victory while Mick Price will aim Rightfully Yours at the Toorak Handicap following his hard-fought win.

Hayes said Tameer had been on trial for the 1600m Group One 1600m three-year-old fillies feature in the Arborea Hcp (1430m).

"We wanted to see if she could settle and she's a very competitive race filly and she just got herself a ticket into the Thousand Guineas," Hayes said.

"She's won five out of seven now which is a pretty good effort."

Ridden by stable apprentice Dean Holland, Taameer ($12) settled back in the field from a wide gate and swept home late to score by three-quarters of a length from Dan Baroness with Tobouggie Woogie a half-length away third.

"He rode her well, he rode to instructions and produced her late and it really worked," Hayes said.

"Last start she was out four-wide outside the leader and got very tired.

"Today the last 200 metres was the best part of her race and I think she got a little bit of bad luck on the turn so it was a good effort to pick up and come on at the end."

Rightfully Yours made it five wins from his last six starts with his victory in the Grand Cidium Hcp (1430m).

Stable representative Mick Nolan said the four-year-old was in the race to lift his handicap rating with the Toorak (1600m) on his home track, Caulfield, in mind.

Rightfully Yours ($1.65 fav) was ridden patiently by Damien Oliver before getting up to score by a long neck from race leader Jungle Ruler with O'Reilly's Clock a long neck a similar margin away third.

"He's progressing nicely as he's becoming more mature," Oliver said.

"He got a bump early which set him alight but I was reluctant to go early on him.

"The leader really booted from the 600m so it was a good effort to run him down."

Oliver said he would not be able to ride Rightfully Yours in the Toorak as he is expected to get the minimum which is well under his riding weight.

Earlier Sydney trainer John O'Shea and jockey Glen Boss combined to win the Biscay Hcp (1000m) with Olonana ($12).

A winner on a heavy track over 1100m at Canterbury at her debut in June, O'Shea was setting Olonana for the Thousand Guineas but that plan was thwarted after she "got a bit of a virus".

Her immediate mission now is the Group Three Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on October 11.

The More Than Ready filly came from back in the field with a strong finish to score by a length from Wilander with Quite Famous 1-3/4 lengths away third.
