In-form galloper Mr Griswold will try to make it four straight wins when he steps up from provincial grade in the Ahern's At Highways Handicap at Sandown on Wednesday.

The Good Journey gelding is still in his first racing preparation having run fourth in a 1206m Benalla three-year-old maiden on June 1 and second in a 1200m Ballarat two-year-old and upwards maiden on June 24 before his three wins.

The four-year-old broke through in a Bendigo three-year-old maiden on July 8 before landing successive wins at Cranbourne in a three-year-old 0-68 Hcp (1400m) on July 25 and 0-72 Hcp (1500m) on August 8.

"He's in good form. I'm just hoping this race isn't too sharp for him back to the 1300 metres," Mat Ellerton, who trains Mr Griswold in partnership with his cousin Simon Zahra, said.

"He's done a good job winning his maiden and stringing three wins together.

"He's a horse who enjoys those heavy (10) tracks."

The going at the Hillside meeting was rated a heavy (9) on Tuesday.

"He's having his sixth run this preparation and we're just trying to work it around not spelling and coming back for the summer because he really loves wet ground," Ellerton said.

Andrew Mallyon again takes the ride on Mr Griswold, having ridden him at his past four starts, while James Winks will be aboard stablemate Knightsbridge who resumes in the same race.

A six-year-old by Faltaat, Knightsbridge won a hat-trick of races at Ellerslie from 1600m to 2100m (twice) in December 2008 and January 2009.

He was sent to Ellerton and Zahra and after a year on the sidelines has had seven starts for one placing, when second to Oronero over 2500m at Moonee Valley three starts back on April 5.

Knightsbridge hasn't raced since finishing 12th to Ajhar over 2600m at Flemington on April 25.

"We're hoping he can measure up in country Cups over the spring," Ellerton said.

"He had a mixed preparation last time. A few things didn't go right with him so we gave him a break and he's kicking off again tomorrow."

Mr Griswold is on TAB Sportsbet's third line of betting at $8 with the Peter Snowden-trained Charbet the $3.50 favourite and Knightsbridge rated a $21 chance.
