Noel Mayfield-Smith can see no reason to suggest three-year-old Famous Seamus won't continue the promising start to his career at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

Famous Seamus is unbeaten in two starts and can further enhance his claims as a potential autumn carnival prospect in the Warwick Farm Handicap (1300m).

"I'm confident he can run very well again," Mayfield-Smith said.

"At this stage I can't see why not because he's going as well as he was in his previous starts and in his last start at Canterbury there were horses in that race with ability.

"The form out of it is strong, it wasn't an ordinary midweek race."

Famous Seamus led over the 1250m at Canterbury last time out and fended off the challenge of the Chris Waller-trained Flying Zero with another Waller-trained runner, Daymo, finishing third.

Mayfield-Smith said Famous Seamus had always shown good ability and praised the gelding's will to win.

"In both his starts what I've liked is that he's shown a lot of guts," Mayfield-Smith said.

"He was clearly challenged last start but he kicked on and found the line strongly."

Mayfield-Smith said future targets were yet to be determined for the son of Elusive City but he hopes the lightly-raced sprinter can be competitive in better-class races at next year's autumn carnival.

"We always have those sort of plans for a horse like this," the trainer said.

"He's won two from two so if he continues to go ahead then yes, we would (look at the autumn)."

Famous Seamus is a full-brother to the Gerald Ryan-trained sprinter Ahdashim who has won seven of his 30 starts including the Group Three Standish Handicap.

TAB Sportsbet installed Famous Seamus as the $4.80 favourite with the gelding to jump from barrier two with Robyn Freeman-Key on board.

Meanwhile, top jockey Hugh Bowman is fit to ride at the Warwick Farm meeting after being stood down after two races at Rosehill on Saturday.

Bowman had a fall at Hawkesbury last Thursday and was still feeling the effects at Rosehill and couldn't continue after guiding Dynamic Honour to victory in the second race.

The 2008/09 Sydney premiership winner rode in barrier trials at Rosehill on Tuesday morning and has six rides on Wednesday.
