Fleet-footed mare Falvelina threw her name into the ring to join stablemate Spirit Of Boom in Sydney with a nail-biting win at Doomben.

Falvelina registered the fourth win of her 13-start career with a short neck victory over Alberton Park in Saturday's Hardy Brothers Plate (1010m).

The mare's victory was the third metropolitan winner and the first in town on a Saturday for Toowoomba apprentice Skye Bogenhuber who rides Falvelina in most of her trackwork.

The Tony Gollan-trained Spirit Of Boom is campaigning in Sydney for the spring and did a good job to finish fourth in the Group Three San Domenico Stakes (1000m) at Randwick last Saturday.

Gollan was represented by his father Darryl who indicated Falvelina could be part of small team the Toowoomba stable plans to send south to bolster their Sydney representation.

"We're thinking of sending Temple Of Boom down shortly and possibly Listen Son," Gollan Snr said.

"This mare would have gone to Sydney before now had they not had wet tracks and she still might go down."

Gollan was always confident of victory with Falvelina who showed sustained speed after being taken straight to the front by Bogenhuber.

"She won with 56 kilos at Doomben one day so I knew she'd be hard to beat with only 49 kilos," Gollan said.

Meanwhile, trainer Chris Jordan will press ahead with an interstate trip for Fulmonti following his eye-catching performance to finish second to Rightson in the Woolworths Handicap (1615m).

"They went too slow for him early but I really liked the way he hit the line," Jordan said.

"He'll definitely be going on this effort but I'm not sure whether to stay at home for a few more runs before the Newcastle Cup."

The Group Three Newcastle cup (2300m) will be run on September 16.

Fulmonti has just turned eight and hasn't won since his Group Two Hollindale Stakes (1800m) victory at the Gold Coast in May last year.

Jordan believed Fulmonti raced without luck during the recent Brisbane winter carnival, particularly in the Group Three Lord Mayor's Cup at Doomben in May and Group Two Brisbane Cup at Eagle Farm in June.

Fulmonti finished fourth to the Gerald Ryan-trained Rothesay in the Lord Mayor's Cup (1615m) and was eighth to Crossthestart in the Brisbane Cup (2400m).

"He got held up twice in the Brisbane Cup and should have finished a lot closer and he ran on well behind Rothesay in the Lord Mayor's Cup," Jordan said.

Fulmonti, who was coming off a last-start sixth to Twin Wing in the Listed Grafton Cup (2350m) on July 15, campaigned without success in Sydney and Melbourne last spring.
