Queensland trainer Jeff Caught's first visit to Rosehill was one to remember with Falino showing his rivals a clean pair of heels to earn a step up to Group company.

Rosehill was not unfamiliar territory for the three-year-old who was formerly trained on the track by Chris Waller.

He had a barrier trial for Waller in January after which he injured his wither and was subsequently sent to a tried horses' sale where Caught picked him up for $14,000.

Two wins and a third in Queensland had netted him almost $20,000 but he earned $62,000 including a $20,000 BOBS bonus for his Sydney win.

"I had him entered in Brisbane today but he didn't make the field so we decided to come here to try to earn some prize money," Caught said.

"The BOBS bonus was another attraction.

"I want to take him home and run him in the Group Three Vo Rogue Plate on Boxing Day."

Ridden by Tim Clark, Falino ($3.90) jumped straight to the front in Saturday's Slipper On Sale Handicap (1200m) and was never headed with Unanimously ($7.50) maintaining second all the way to finished 2-1/4 lengths astern.

Favourite Liechtenstein ($3) was another neck away third.

A former harness racing driver, Caught combines training a small team of thoroughbreds with his profession as a consulting engineer.

Falino is the best of the bunch at the moment with three wins from his four starts.

"It's been a bit of an experience," Caught said.

"Every time I step him up he delivers.

"He's got a flat wither after the injury but it doesn't bother him.

"I only bought him in June and now I can take him home and he can get into the better races now he's earned some decent prize money."
