Queensland's big wet has forced the abandonment of Saturday's Eagle Farm meeting just a week out from the lucrative Magic Millions race day on the Gold Coast.

The decision to call off Eagle Farm was made on Friday due to the continuing wet weather and the state of the track.

More than 160mm of rain has fallen at the track this week.

Bryan Guy had planned on using the Aus Special Metals Handicap (1200m) at Eagle Farm to secure two-year-old Noisy Ocean a Magic Millions Classic berth.

Noisy Ocean is currently a $21 chance in the Magic Millions Classic (1200m) on the back of a debut fourth at Eagle Farm on December 4 and second to Five O'Clock over 1110m at Doomben two weeks later.

Guy is still hopeful Noisy Ocean will sneak into the final field of 16 for Saturday week's $2 million race.

"I set my sights on running tomorrow and hoping he could win or run second to book his place," Guy said.

"Talking to them (Magic Millions) this morning I'm number 15 at the moment so I'm probably just waiting to see what happens tomorrow in Sydney and Adelaide.

"He's not going to go in on a good preparation, a month between runs, but I'm hoping he still gets a run."

The Gold Coast-based trainer also had Red Royal entered for the same Eagle Farm race.

"He's only had a third at Ipswich so he won't get a run (in the Magic Millions)," Guy said.

"There's nothing I can do about that."

Fellow Gold Coast trainer Maryann Thexton had Merryanna entered for Eagle Farm and also the Gold Coast on Saturday, but the filly won't run on her home track even if the races are still on there.

The Gold Coast, rated a heavy (10), was inspected on Friday and is in danger of also being called off with another inspection at 6am (AEST) on race morning to determine the fate of the meeting.

"We are not going to run her tomorrow anyway, we are confident of making the field (for the Magic Millions Classic)," Thexton said.

"Several horses above us (in the order of entry) are confirmed non-starters."

Ipswich races on Friday were also abandoned due to the weather and state of the track.

In the wake of the Eagle Farm meeting being lost, the seven-race twilight fixture at Toowoomba was rescheduled as a day meeting and will be conducted in the timeslot vacated by Eagle Farm.
