Trainer David Hayes has secured the latest seven-figure lot from this year's Magic Millions yearling sales.

Hayes, acting on behalf of a syndicate, parted with $1.2 million to buy a Redoute's Choice colt from the Group-One winning mare Kapchat.

Kapchat was a Coolmore Classic winner during a racetrack career which netted six wins.

Her progeny include well-performed racehorses Kaphero, Princesa, Keeneland and Wasimah.

The colt was offered as part of Widden Stud's draft and he becomes the third yearling to be knocked down for $1 million or more during this year's sales.

A brother to outstanding sprinter-miler Racing To Win realised $2 million during Wednesday's opening session.

Sydney trainer Gai Waterhouse signed for the colt and she was back in the spotlight soon after when she paid $1 million for a Redoute's Choice colt consigned by Magic Millions co-owner John Singleton.
