Danleigh is the logical choice but trainer Chris Waller is not discounting any of his three Warwick Stakes runners.

A triple Group One winner at weight-for-age, Danleigh was the only horse punters wanted on Thursday with his price crunched from $3.40 in to $2.80 with TAB Sportsbet.

The seven-year-old will be joined by fellow stable stars Metal Bender and Triple Honour in Saturday's Group Two feature as carnival racing really swings into action with five stakes races at Warwick Farm.

Waller admitted the distance of 1400m and weight-for-age conditions suit Danleigh most.

Last season's Sydney premiership runner-up also warned the gelding would strip fitter after his second to Love Conquers All in the Missile Stakes (1200m) when he went to the races about 10kg heavier than usual.

"He (Danleigh) is a triple Group One winner who's won a Group One race at weight-for-age level over this distance and the other two (Triple Honour and Metal Bender) haven't," Waller said.

"It's probably a suitable race for him."

Triple Honour and Metal Bender, however, are also ticking along nicely with residual fitness on their side after successful Queensland winter campaigns.

Metal Bender spelled at his owner David Fuller's property after winning the Hollindale Stakes and Group One Doomben Cup and has returned in great order, according to the trainer.

"He could give them a shake if he raced midfield and the gaps open up as he's drawn well (barrier four)," Waller said.

"Quality will take him a long way but obviously whatever he does on Saturday he'll improve on."

Triple Honour was also paid up for the Show County Quality (1200m) but unless there is rain the plan is for him to take aim in the Warwick Stakes.

The 2008 Doncaster winner hasn't been fully tested ahead of his first-up assignment but previous good fresh form has Waller also anticipating something from the six-year-old.

"I don't know because we haven't pushed him yet but what he's got in his favour is that he's a very good horse fresh," Waller said.

"In the early days his first four fresh runs of his campaign he won including a weight-for-age Premiere Stakes.

"You can't discount him, he's a very clean-winded horse and although he's not tuned up to win I'm sure he'll run a race."

The last time a feature meeting was conducted at the southwestern Sydney track Waller was thwarted in the Group One Chipping Norton Stakes when Theseo scored a thrilling half-head victory over Rangirangdoo.

Danleigh was a luckless third.

Theseo will resume in the Warwick Stakes and although he hasn't won first-up for three years, jockey Nash Rawiller knows better than to write off his favourite horse.

"Whatever Theseo does he'll improve on but I never underestimate him," Rawiller said.
