Anthony Cummings is happy with his decision to withdraw Solo Flyer and Duporth from the All-Aged Stakes with the two now primed for an assault on the Brisbane winter carnival.

Both drew wide in Saturday's Group One event at Randwick and Cummings was particularly concerned about how much work Solo Flyer would have to do on the slow track.

He feared a repeat of the Doncaster Handicap where Solo Flyer hit the front in the straight only to be swamped and finish 1-3/4 lengths ninth behind Vision And Power.

"He would have had to go forward and I think the result would have been the same as the Doncaster," Cummings said.

"He would have been a tired horse and I would probably have had to send him to the paddock.

"Now we have a chance at three Group Ones in Queensland that might have gone out the window."

Solo Flyer and Duporth will follow the same path in Brisbane beginning with the BTC Sprint (1200m) on May 9 followed by the Doomben 10,000 (1350m) two weeks later and the Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) a fortnight after that.

Prior to the Doncaster, Solo Flyer put together three successive wins including the Newcastle Newmarket and the Group Two Ajax Stakes.

Duporth's form is not as good on paper but Cummings is happy with the three-year-old's progress.

After a luckless 3-1/2 lengths eighth in the Group One Newmarket Handicap at Flemington, Duporth again struck trouble when sixth in the Phar Lap Stakes won by Heart Of Dreams before again running sixth in the Group One Galaxy (1100m).

All-Aged Stakes winner Danleigh is another likely to head north for the rich winter races with trainer Chris Waller keen to start the five-year-old in the Doomben 10,000.

"He is a horse that has had a lot of problems and is still a day to day proposition," Waller said.

"While he is up and running I'd like to keep him going and take on Queensland with him.

"He may go straight to the 10,000. I don't think the four weeks between runs would be a problem."

Cummings also plans to take Road To Rock to Brisbane along with Miss Darcey and Nothin' Leica Cat who ran third and fourth in the AJC Australian Oaks.

Apache Cat is the early TAB Sportsbet favourite for both the BTC Sprint and Doomben 10,000.

Danleigh is the second elect for the BTC Sprint, and is on the third line of betting for the 10,000.

He is second pick for the Stradbroke with All Silent heading that market.
