A decision on an Expressway Stakes start for Patinack Farm's flagship sprinter Raheeb will be left until later this week.

Raheeb is among 10 nominations for the Expressway at Rosehill but trainer Jason Coyle says he is unsure if the stallion will resume in the weight-for-age sprint.

Coyle, the Sydney-based trainer for racing and breeding newcomer Patinack Farm, said he would confirm first-up options for Raheeb with his boss Nathan Tinkler.

"I will sit down with Nathan closer to acceptances and decide which way we'll go," Coyle said.

"There is a chance he might trial again before he resumes."

Raheeb made his first public appearance for Coyle when he finished second to Ashikaga in an 800-metre trial at Randwick on Friday.

With veteran jockey Rodney Quinn in the saddle, Raheeb sat outside Ashikaga and, like the winner, was held together for much of the heat.

"Obviously he's still nowhere near his top but he seems too have come through the trial very well," Coyle said.

Quinn has been placed on stand-by for the Expressway ride.

Raheeb hasn't raced since finishing down the course in the W S Cox Plate last October when trained by Anthony Cummings.

Slated to join Patinack Farm's stallion roster at the end of his racing career, Raheeb was among the higher profile exposed horses transferred to Coyle when Tinkler and Cummings parted company late last year.

Under Cummings's care, Raheeb returned from a 12-month racetrack absence in brilliant form, claiming the Group Three Cameron Handicap at Newcastle.

Coyle said the Apollo Stakes and the Chipping Norton Stakes had been pencilled in for Raheeb's early autumn program.

He said the five-year-old's campaign would be kept to distances up to 1600 metres.

"On the back of a fairly average Cox Plate run it would appear he is better suited in races up to a mile," Coyle said.

Meanwhile, Marquardt, the Patinack-owned filly who entered Golden Slipper calculations with a first-up win at Rosehill on Saturday, has pleased the stable with her recovery.

"There are a few options for her but at this stage she is looking good for the Widden Stakes in two weeks," Coyle said.

Colin Tidy's betchoice.com now has Marquardt at $11 for the $3.5 million Golden Slipper (1200m) on April 4 with More Joyous at $5 ahead of Real Saga ($7.50) and Rostova ($8).

Real Saga and Rostova are both scheduled to run in the Blue Diamond Preludes at Caulfield on Saturday.
