The famous red and black colours of Eduardo Cojuangco were to the fore again at Rosehill Saturday along with the lesser-known yellow and black of his brother Henry.

Eduardo Cojuangco has raced many stars including Desert War and Northern Meteor and has another potential Group One winner in three-year-old Swift Alliance, winner of the Rosehill Event Centre Hcp (1200m).

But he may find himself upstaged in the autumn by his brother with two-year-old Turf Express living up to his short quote on debut to win the www.theraces.com.au Hcp (1100m) and stamp himself as a Golden Slipper contender.

Both are trained by Gai Waterhouse who prepares all the Gooree Syndicate's horses and she is already making plans for the autumn.

"He has a lovely stride and looks like a Slipper horse," Waterhouse said of Turf Express.

"He dug deep when he needed to and that's the sign of a good two-year-old."

In a slowly-run race, Blake Shinn took Turf Express ($1.30 fav) to the lead early and maintained a comfortable pace.

Icedginger ($8) challenged in the straight but Turf Express found another gear to go on and win by a widening three-quarters of a length.

Andrew Baddock manages the Australian interests of the Filipino Cojuangco brothers and said he was thrilled to see Turf Express win.

"Henry only has about half a dozen horses and he watched the race in Manila," Baddock said.

"He was really thrilled and it's great for him to have such a nice horse."

Swift Alliance ($1.40) also showed he is developing into a nice horse with his second win from as many starts.

He also had the services of Shinn who took him to the front but was content to relinquish the lead when Kody Nestor and Marchinski raced alongside nearing the turn.

But Shinn was always in control and Swift Alliance slid to the front again in the straight and repelled his rivals to go on and beat Blackbriar by 1-3/4 lengths with Marchinski another half a length third.

Waterhouse believes Swift Alliance would get up to 1600m in the autumn although Baddock thinks he is a speed machine.

"I think he is purely a speed horse but Gai disagrees and who am I to argue," Baddock said.

"I will be guided by her.

"He is a lovely horse with a great action and has always shown us a lot.

"We thought so much of him we knocked back half a million dollars from Hong Kong."

Waterhouse said Swift Alliance would go through his classes before a decision was made on his autumn targets but said he would not be clashing with Northern Meteor, winner of the recent Group One Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington.

The winning double from the first two races gave Sydney's premier trainer a perfect score for the day from her only two runners.
