Sydney's biggest trainers have thrown their support behind Friday's showpiece meeting at Scone which has attracted more than 200 nominations across eight races.

Peter Snowden looks set to play a strong hand with five entries for the Listed Dark Jewel Classic (1400m), including Serenissima and Renaissance who ran one-two in the Darley Crown at Hawkesbury last Saturday week.

He also has Khas Kura and Yesterday in the mix for the Listed Scone Cup (1600m).

Gai Waterhouse has entered Princess Quality for the Dark Jewel while Patinack Farm trainer John Thompson has multiple stakes placegetter So Anyway in the fillies and mares feature and Tagus in the Cup.

Chris Waller, David Payne, Guy Walter, Clarry Conners and the training partnership of Michael, Wayne and John Hawkes have also targeted the rich country meeting.

Gerald Ryan will be represented in the fillies and mares feature by two-time city winner Mysterious Light, although stablemate Beaucoup is unlikely to back up after running at Rosehill on Saturday.

Such is the depth of quality, trainer Greg Hickman is unsure if he will be able to secure a start for Ilringya in the Dark Jewel and he has nominated her for a benchmark race as a back-up.

"I'd like to start her in the Dark Jewel if she gets a run," Hickman said.

"She's flying at the moment."

While the Dark Jewel and Scone Cup both carry black type, the inaugural Inglis Guineas (1600m) carries the biggest purse.

With $740,000 up for grabs - including $500,000 to the winner - it is the richest country race in Australia.

Group Three South Pacific Classic winner Star Of Octagonal heads the 24 Guineas entries along with the David Hayes-trained Bawaardi, Keith Nolan Classic winner Slapstick and All Legal for Kevin Moses.

All Legal finished third in the South Pacific Classic and again in the Hawkesbury Guineas last start, both over 1400 metres.

His two career wins have been over 1600 metres and Moses is looking forward to him getting back to that journey on Friday.

"His runs have been good and the mile should suit him," Moses said.

Moses also has My Sweet Cookie in the Scone Cup which boasts multiple Group One winner Mentality and the three horses that ran the trifecta in the Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury- Snow Alert, Keffiya and Parfumier.
