Trainer Craig Carmody is confident debutante Six Opinions will prove to be a bargain buy.

The two-year-old Royal Academy filly is out of Fusaichi Pegasus mare Tears Roll Down and has her first start in the Sydney City Toyota Hcp (1000m) at Randwick on Saturday.

"I thought we got her quite reasonably, for $40,000. She's only medium-sized but I'm confident she'll prove to be a bargain," Carmody said.

"She's a little goer and hasn't put a foot wrong as far as her training goes, everything I've asked of her she's done."

Six Opinions finished third to Mill Rock in her only public appearance in a barrier trial at Randwick on October 23.

She was slowly away in the trial but former jockey Carmody, an 11-time Group One winner in the saddle, has sorted her out.

"I took her to the jumpouts and she flew out when I rode her," Carmody said.

Six Opinions has the widest barrier, 10, and will be ridden by Jamie Innes.

"It would be ideal to have a bit of cover from 10 but Jamie will know what to do on the day," Carmody said.

"It's all going to depend on how she jumps but whatever happens I just want Jamie to make sure we've got something to get home with when they straighten.

"I'm expecting her to run a nice race."
