Champion mare Black Caviar has secretly arrived in Queensland for her assignment in next week's Group One BTC Cup at Doomben.

Brisbane Racing Club chairman Kevin Dixon confirmed the mare's arrival but would not reveal where she was being stabled.

Dixon said plans were in train to have the mare work on the course proper at Doomben on Saturday.

"I'm not sure exactly when she arrived but she's here," Dixon said.

"We're making arrangements for her to work on the course proper at Doomben but that will depend whether Peter Moody wants her to work then."

Moody sent Black Caviar to Queensland by float from Melbourne last weekend after a flight was unavailable.

It is understood she travelled well after arriving on Sunday and is in good order at a local Eagle Farm stable.

The BRC is currently building a special stable block for Black Caviar which will hold up to another 12 horses at Eagle Farm.

"We are building about a dozen stables at Eagle Farm and one is specifically for Black Caviar," Dixon said.

"We are making sure there will be appropriate security."

The same security arrangements will be in place for NSW horse Hay List who is regarded as the mare's main opposition in her Brisbane campaign.

The four-year-old made history earlier this year when she became the first Australian-trained horse to top the World Thoroughbred Rankings.

However, she is likely to be demoted when the next international ratings are released later this month following the stunning English 2000 Guineas win by Frankel at the weekend.

Black Caviar will be attempting to take her record to 13 wins from 13 starts when she lines up in Queensland for the first time in the BTC Cup (1200m) on May 14.

The BTC Cup has attracted 16 first acceptors including Black Piranha, winner of the past two Group One Stradbroke Handicaps at Eagle Farm.
