Star mare Ortensia will launch a five-race Group One program in the The Galaxy in Sydney next month.

Trainer Tony Noonan has mapped out the ambitious campaign for the four-year-old daughter of Testa Rossa which will also feature Brisbane's big four - the BTC Sprint, Doomben 10,000, Stradbroke Handicap and Winter Stakes.

Noonan said the plan was designed to enhance Ortensia's value as a broodmare after she scored a record breaking win last start in the Group One Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) in Perth on November 27.

He said he didn't entertain any thoughts of racing her any earlier in the autumn and was hoping to gallop her between races at Caulfield on Saturday.

"It has always been the plan to start her later because she went to Perth," Noonan said.

"She had a bit of break later than the spring horses and we felt this program would work in perfectly for her."

Ortensia has won eight of her 16 starts and, while the Winterbottom was her first Group One win, she campaigned impressively in Brisbane last winter with wins in the Group Two QTC Cup and Listed Glenlogan Park Stakes.

She was also a barnstorming third to Black Piranha in the Stradbroke.

Craig Williams has ridden Ortensia every start since she won first up at Caulfield a year ago and Noonan said he would be offered the mount again in The Galaxy on April 17.

Meanwhile Noonan has Winter Stakes plans for Saturday's Flemington winner Be Positive.

The four-year-old mare has been a revelation to Noonan since winning at Kyneton last December, graduating to her first stakes win in the Group Three National Jockey Celebration Day-Victoria Plate (1400m).

"I could take her to Sydney but she will go for a break now and come back for the Winter Stakes," Noonan said.

The Winter Stakes (1400m) for mares at Eagle Farm in June is the final Group One race of the Australian racing season.
