Grahame Begg has been a regular in the winners' circle at Sydney midweek meetings this season and is confident that can continue at Warwick Farm.

Begg will take two runners to the southwestern Sydney track on Wednesday including Iberian Pleasure in the Carramar Maiden Handicap (1100m).

If successful, Iberian Pleasure will become the eighth three-year-old from Begg's stable to score at a midweek fixture since the beginning of August.

Lightly-raced mare Cabernet will start one of the favourites in the Georges Hall Handicap (1600m).

"We've had some horses going through their grades that have measured up well," Begg said of his run of success.

"I can't see any reason why tomorrow (Wednesday) will be any different."

Among the trainer's midweek winners was Secret Admirer who broke her maiden status at Canterbury on September 8.

Less than a month later the filly produced a breathtaking finish to win the Group One Flight Stakes at Randwick.

Ilovethiscity's maiden win on the Kensington track on August 18 was followed up just 10 days later with his luckless third in the Group One Golden Rose.

Mac Chois, Kingfisher, Miss Midas, Military Blonde and Magita are other Begg-trained horses to have been victorious so far this season.

Four-year-old Cabernet hit the line strongly from back in the field when third to Zaira in a 1400m event at Randwick on October 16.

She is rated a $3.80 chance on Wednesday behind the Paul Cave-trained Star Leader ($3.60) who was a winner on Melbourne Cup day at Randwick.

"She ran very well last start so this looks the right race for her tomorrow," Begg said of Cabernet.

"The day she won in her second start in a race (at Canterbury), she won very impressively but then she had a long time off due to injury.

"It's just taken her a run or two to hit her straps but she's certainly a very nice mare."

Iberian Pleasure started three times as a two-year-old and hasn't raced since finishing eighth in a $100,000 Magic Millions Plate (1200m) at the Gold Coast in June.

Begg said the gelding also looked well placed in Wednesday's race.

"He was due to run on Melbourne Cup day (at Randwick) but I scratched him due to the heavy track," the trainer said.

"I tried to avoid running him first-up on a heavy track but he's got to go around tomorrow."

Warwick Farm was rated a slow (6) after 44mm of rain fell at the track on Monday night.
