Sydney trainer Grahame Begg launched a stinging attack on the Eagle Farm track after All Silent was thrashed in a Tuesday gallop ahead of his Group One assignment in the Stradbroke Handicap.

All Silent and Stradbroke rival Absolut Glam started their work together from the 1200 metres on the course proper but in heavy conditions the Melbourne mare was allowed to skip clear and trounced the Begg-trained All Silent.

"She would have beaten us by 10 lengths but I couldn't believe how bad the track was," Begg said.

"They were supposed to work together but they were wide apart and my rider (Robert Crilley) never let him off the bridle.

"I told him the track was too wet and not to chase her and my bloke kept changing strides a number of times.

"She (Absolut Glam) ran home the last 600 metres in around 38.9 seconds so what would my horse have run?"

Begg wasn't concerned with the latest controversy surrounding All Silent who will be ridden by Hugh Bowman and remains the $5 second favourite behind Black Piranha ($4.20) in Saturday's 1400-metre feature.

Queensland Racing Limited stewards intervened on Monday to resolve a riding dispute before ordering Craig Williams to partner Melbourne filly Ortensia ($5.50), and not All Silent, in the Stradbroke.

"I'm not really worried about the gallop. He's had a lot of work and didn't do much work before he ran third in the (Doomben) 10,000," Begg said.

"He had a good gallop when I took him across the road to work at Doomben last Saturday.

"I'm more worried about the track for Saturday.

"The Eagle Farm track is a disgrace. It's been the same for years and that's why blokes like John O'Shea, Gai Waterhouse and others don't like coming here.

"They even open the course proper at Kensington (in Sydney) for gallops for trainers who don't like working at Eagle Farm and go up late to Brisbane."

Begg said he was aware facilities at Eagle Farm were due for a major refurbishment under the merged Brisbane Racing Club.

"They're talking about putting in tunnels but what use are tunnels when you have a track like this," he said.

"They need to do up the track first. It's hasn't been upgraded for 100 years."

The Stradbroke Handicap barrier draw will be conducted on Wednesday and Begg has no preference which alley would best suit All Silent who came down the outside fence to finish third to Apache Cat in the Group One Doomben 10,000 (1350m) on May 23.

"I know one thing, he won't be coming home that wide again," he said.

"You need a tractor to get through it out there."
