Clearing weather has saved Sydney's midweek race meeting from a possible venue transfer.
As almost 300mm of rain fell on Randwick last week, Australian Turf Club officials were making plans to shift the meeting from the Kensington track.
"The water table is as high as I've seen it in my short time at Randwick," racecourse manager Nevesh Ramdhani said.
"But one of the good things about these tracks at Randwick is that they shed water well.
"Generally after a few hours of rain the surface water disappears. The ground was saturated but is drying out well.
"The forecast is pretty good up to Wednesday and we should be able to race."
Rain has played havoc with the NSW racing industry over the past week.
Canterbury, Gosford and Newcastle meetings were lost because of the wet conditions but Warwick Farm went ahead on Saturday without incident.
However, important barrier trials at Warwick Farm on Tuesday have been postponed until Friday.
Some of Sydney's best gallopers have been nominated to have been to start their run towards spring glory in the trials.
With the running rail out three metres, Wednesday's Randwick meeting has attracted healthy acceptances with capacity fields in all but one of the seven races.
Champion Melbourne-based jockey Damien Oliver will ride at Randwick - the first of two trips he will make to Sydney this week.
Oliver will link with Chris Waller for seven rides on Saturday and he has four rides for the Rosehill trainer on Wednesday.
His midweek book includes the mount on Brayroan, beaten as favourite in Saturday-class at his most recent outing.
Touted as a possible Epsom Handicap contender, Brayroan will line up in the Randwick Betting Auditorium Handicap (1550m).
