Apparitions made a triumphant return from injury at Canterbury on Wednesday and put herself in the frame for a crack at next month's Group One Queensland Oaks at Eagle Farm.

Trainer Clarry Conners was elated with the run from the Bel Esprit filly who was having her first race since August last year.

"She fractured an elbow, that's why she's been out for a while, but she has developed so much in that time it's amazing," Conners said.

"I think she could go a lot further, she's kicked on so much from her last prep and credit goes to the owners, they've been so patient.

"She's nominated for the Oaks, whether she's good enough is another thing, but this performance showed she is on track for a trip to Queensland, she's just a totally different horse."

Ridden by Hugh Bowman, Apparitions jumped from barrier one and saved plenty of ground in the run with the hoop parking her behind the leader Floriade in the Freeway Republic Beer Handicap (1200m).

On straightening, Apparitions let down well and had too much speed in the closing stages for Floriade, beating her by a half-length.

"She's a filly with a bit of promise," Bowman said.

If she does make it to Queensland, Apparitions will join stablemate Kick 'N Chase.

The four-year-old is nominated for the Kokoda Handicap (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday and has been nominated for races like the BTC Cup, the Doomben 10,000 and Stradbroke Handicap.

"He's been out for a while but his trials have been pleasing and he's got a good first-up record," Conners said.

Kick 'N Chase ran fourth in the Group Two Sires' Produce at Eagle Farm as a two-year-old.

Conners celebrated a winning double at Canterbury after Sunday Lady powered home to win the final race of the day, the Freeway's Great Steaks Handicap (1900m).
