In-form trainer Joe Pride believes if there is ever going to be a day when Anatomica can beat super filly Samantha Miss, Saturday is it.

The pair clash in the Group Two Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) at Randwick with Anatomica going for three consecutive victories.

Apprentice Daniel Ganderton has been on board for Anatomica's two wins this campaign and will reunite with the Choisir filly on Saturday.

"She's got the fitness on her side and she's going well, it's a very good field but if she is ever going to beat Samantha Miss this is the day she will do it," Pride said.

Anatomica, who ran fourth to Sebring in the Golden Slipper last year, had Pride concerned this campaign even after her victory at Rosehill on January 10.

"She had so much time off, she had 16 weeks off after the Slipper and then came back for the San Domenico where she ran fourth to Duporth but she had some niggling problems and had another 20 weeks off," said Pride who celebrated a winning double at Rosehill on Saturday with Hadaaf and Vision And Power.

"Her win at Rosehill wasn't very convincing and I didn't know if we could get her back to her best but her last-start win at Randwick proved to me that she's getting back to somewhere near her best."

At her last outing Anatomica charged home to edge out Baby Casino by a nose over 1200 metres at Randwick on January 24.

"She just keeps improving this preparation and will turn up on Saturday with a big chance," Pride said.

Ganderton is looking forward to jumping back on Anatomica.

"She's a lovely horse and we've got a really nice combination happening, she's a very fit horse and is racing well enough to be considered a huge chance on Saturday," Ganderton said.

Three-time Group One winner Samantha Miss continues to please trainer Kris Lees ahead of the race.

"She turned in her best work of the preparation on Tuesday and I'm expecting her to run very well," Lees said.

Samantha Miss hasn't started since her outstanding win in the VRC Oaks (2500m) at Flemington in November.

Meanwhile, trainer David Payne said stakeswinner Hairy would be saved up for the Triscay Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on Saturday week.

Hairy was nominated for both the Group Two Breeders Classic and the Group Three Clissold Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

"Everything's fine with her, we'll just give her an extra week," Payne said.
