Group One winners Aloha and Toorak Toff both won barrier trials at Cranbourne on Monday and are set to meet when they resume in the Bobbie Lewis Quality at Flemington on Saturday week.

Reigning Golden Rose winner Toorak Toff won the opening trial over 990m by 2-1/4 lengths from Testas Double, running 59.61 in the heavy going.

The Rick Hore-Lacy-trained Toorak Toff was retired last December after he was diagnosed with a breathing problem but after a successful throat operation his racing career was resurrected.

The horse made his comeback in The Goodwood (1200m) when 17th to Lone Rock at Morphettville in May but on returning to his Caulfield stables was diagnosed with travel sickness and subsequently spelled.

However the four-year-old's trial suggested he was on track to resume in the Group Three Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m).

The Mick Price-trained Aloha (48.04), ridden by Glen Boss, and stablemate Dubleanny (47.14), handled by Craig Newitt, both won 800m trials.

"They both trialled well," Price said.

"They'll both go first-up into the Bobbie Lewis and then go to the Rupert Clarke and then I think they'll take different paths from there."

"I'd like to have another go at 1400 metres with Dubleanny."

The five-year-old failed over 1440m at Caulfield last preparation but has an excellent overall record of nine wins from 16 starts.

She has won six races down the straight at Flemington including two Listed races.

Dubleanny won the Proud Miss Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville and was spelled after she edged out Perturbo to win the Straight Six (1200m) at Flemington, both in May.

Aloha is a winner at eight of 19 starts and she made it five straight in taking out the Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill in March.

The five-year-old hasn't raced since finishing sixth to Sacred Choice on a heavy track in the Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Randwick in April.

Yosei, a last start winner of the Tattersall's Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm in June, finished fourth to Aloha in the trial.

The triple Group One winner was ridden by regular partner Michelle Payne.

Also among the top trial performers was 2010 English Derby runner-up At First Sight who won a 1550m trial from stablemates Midas Touch, September Morn, Alandi and Green Moon.

The Robert Hickmott-trained five-year-old, who ran 10th first-up to Temple Of Boom in the Aurie's Star Handicap (1200m) at Flemington, is nominated for Saturday's Group Two Memsie Stakes (1400m) and the Listed Heatherlie Handicap (1700m) at Caulfield as well as the Premier's Cup (1800m) at Rosehill.
