Promising colt Spacecraft took longer to settle into Sydney than hoped but he is on target to make his Harbour City debut at Rosehill on Saturday.

The Danny O'Brien-trained three-year-old will line up in the Group Two Phar Lap Stakes (1500m), a week after missing his scheduled assignment in the Randwick Guineas.

"It was the plan to run last week in the Randwick Guineas but it just took him a couple of days to settle in so we decided to wait a week for the Phar Lap," O'Brien said.

"He's looking for further but he'll run Saturday then go to the Tulloch and the Derby.

"He's in good shape."

Spacecraft made a quantum leap in grade during the spring, finishing fourth in a Geelong maiden at his debut before running second to Hanks in the Group Two AAMI Vase three starts later.

He resumed with an eye-catching third to Denman over an unsuitable 1200 metres in the Zeditave Stakes before a last-start sixth to the same colt in the D'Urban Stakes over 1400 metres last month.

Spacecraft will be one of two O'Brien-trained gallopers in action at Rosehill along with Blue Diamond Stakes winner Star Witness in the Todman Stakes (1200m).

The meeting has been a lucky one for O'Brien in the past as he produced Porto Roca to win the Group One Coolmore Classic on the corresponding program nine years ago.
