All Silent set himself up for a trip to either Hong Kong or Perth with his explosive last-to-first sprint to blow his rivals away in the Group One Patinack Farm Classic at Flemington.

Taking on five fellow Group One winners in Saturday's 1200m weight-for-age feature, the Grahame Begg-trained gelding was still last of the nine runners at the 300m and had just joined the second last horse Nicconi at the 200m.

But the $3.90 favourite, ridden by Nick Hall, unleashed a powerful finishing sprint to score by three-quarters of a length from three-year-old Wanted ($16) with Bank Robber ($12) a head away third.

All Silent ran his last 400m in a sensational 21.71 seconds with the fourth-placed Apache Cat running the second fastest section of 22.19s.

"He stood them up an unbelievable start and just mowed them down," Begg said.

"He never exerts himself on the track, he just holds it in all the time and in his races he's pretty relaxed but one thing with him is he loves firm ground.

"He loves getting on the good tracks and obviously he relishes Flemington. He's four from four here now. It was an outstanding performance.

"He's a pretty special horse."

Begg also praised Hall's patient ride on the Belong To Me six-year-old.

"What can I say. He's two for two on him now, outstanding," the Randwick trainer said.

Begg hasn't yet firmly committed to a trip to Hong Kong to run in the International Sprint (1200m) at Sha Tin on December 5 as he said he wants "the dust to settle" before deciding as the race was still five weeks away.

"We'll see how he gets through today. He's been vaccinated and it would be nice to get there," he said.

Hall, who won his second Group One race having won his first aboard Efficient in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington last month, said All Silent's effort was even more meritorious than it looked.

"I'm lost for words with this horse, trying to describe his turn of foot. He did a great job today," Hall said.

"I was following Nicconi into the race but he started to weaken and I had to get off his back and face the breeze but it was an unreal feeling when he let go."

Eight-time Group One winner Apache Cat, who failed in the race last year as the short-priced favourite, was sent out at $5.50 and ran a good race to finish fourth beating his stablemate Mic Mac ($5.50) who was fifth.
