Trainer Grahame Begg expects All Silent to confirm his Doncaster favouritism when he begins his campaign in Saturday's Group Three Liverpool City Cup.

Apprentice Peter Wells, who rode All Silent to fourth in the Epsom Handicap, will be aboard the Emirates Stakes winner when he resumes at Randwick.

All Silent is the $6.50 favourite in early markets for the Doncaster Mile on April 18 ahead of Hot Danish at $10 and $12 third picks Alamosa, Whobegotyou and Forensics.

Begg also has a leading contender for the AJC Australian Oaks in Palacio De Cristal who runs in Saturday's Surround Stakes (1400m) with Glyn Schofield to ride.

"All Silent is spot-on and exactly where we want him in his preparation," Begg said.

"After the Liverpool City Cup he will go to the Canterbury Stakes, the George Ryder and then the Doncaster.

"I just hope the handicapper treats him kindly when the weights come out."

All Silent won two races at Flemington in the spring while his travelling companion Palacio De Cristal stamped her quality with victory over 1700 metres on Victorian Oaks day.

Begg had the filly earmarked for a spring Oaks campaign but settled for the lesser prize after interruptions to her preparation.

The Melbourne classic was won by Samantha Miss who has since been injured, bringing hope to Begg and many other trainers who expected her to be dominant again this autumn.

The trainer had hoped to have Handsupfordetroit in the Australian Guineas at Flemington on Saturday but brought him home after he jarred up on the hard Caulfield track when unplaced in the Group Two D'Urban Stakes on February 21 won by Fravashi.

Despite the setback, Begg is still confident Handsupfordetroit can be a force this preparation.

"He came back last week," Begg said.

"He was sore in one joint and his feet so it was futile staying there because it doesn't look like they will be getting rain any time soon.

"The best thing to do was bring him home and assess him.

"He is likely to go to the Randwick Guineas and if he doesn't look like he will make the grade then there are races like the Darby Munro."
