Sydney trainer Chris Waller is aiming to pull off another training coup in Brisbane this weekend when Al Nakhla runs in the Queensland Oaks.

The filly forced her way into calculations for Saturday's 2400m Group One feature at Eagle Farm on Saturday when she won an 1800m maiden at Randwick last week.

Waller won the Doomben Cup last Saturday week with rehabilitated gelding Metal Bender to bring up the stable's fourth Group One victory this season.

Al Nakhla has risen to the third line of Oaks betting at $8 with the Bart Cummings-trained Dariana the $3.50 favourite.

"She has been set for the Oaks all along," Waller said.

"The plan was to run in the Doomben Roses but she didn't get a start so Plan B was the race at Randwick which she won.

"The timing has worked out and she showed with her win at Randwick that she can handle all tracks."

Al Nakhla is a half-sister to Group One winner Dash For Cash who was successful up to 1600 metres.

But Waller believes Al Nakhla's win on heavy track demonstrated she could stay the distance in the Oaks.

"The Oaks is a step up but her win in the wet shows she has stamina," he said.

"Jim Cassidy will ride her again."

Cassidy will also be reunited with three-year-old stablemate Stryker who is out to cement a place in the Stradbroke Handicap by winning the QTC Cup (1300m).

Waller also entered the BTC Classic winner in the Daybreak Lover (1400m) against his own age but said he was almost certain to run against the older horses.

Pressday, who also won on Doomben Cup day, will be joined by stablemate American Crew in the Sires' Produce Stakes (1400m) as both head towards the Group One T J Smith Stakes on June 12.

Doomben Cup-winning rider Kerrin McEvoy will be aboard American Crew while Cassidy rides Pressday who was partnered by Nash Rawiller in the Group Two Champagne (1200m) last time out.

"The trip away has been the making of Pressday," Waller said.

"He has matured a lot, it's been a good experience for him and whatever happens he is going to be a serious horse in six months time."

Tromso, who is also nominated for Rosehill, will join American Crew and Al Nakhla on the float to Queensland where he runs in the Daybreak Lover.

While proud of the stable's achievements in bringing home four Group One trophies this season, Waller has a special place for his first elite winner, Triple Honour.

The 2008 Doncaster Handicap winner is racing in his best form for some time with a second in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and a close third in the Doomben Cup.

He will run in the Group Two Eagle Farm Cup (2200m) with Larry Cassidy to ride.

"The 2200 metres is a query but on his form he is the benchmark in the race and on his Doomben Cup run he has to be a chance," Waller said.

The field for the Oaks will be declared on Wednesday with acceptances for all other races a day later.
