Desleigh Forster declared Adebisi the best three-year-old in Queensland after the trainer landed her third black-type victory in the Listed Gold Edition Plate at Doomben.
Adebisi ($17), ridden by Scott Seamer, overcame another wide barrier to storm home for a commanding half-length win over Bianca Jewel ($18) in Saturday's 1200-metre feature.
Gold Coast gelding Startsmeup ($7) was a further long head away third just ahead of the heavily-supported favourite Spirit Of Boom, who was backed from $4.80 to $3.20.
Forster rated Adebisi one of the unluckiest horses she's trained and will back up the son of Shovhog in the Group Three Vo Rogue Plate (1350m) at Doomben on Boxing Day.
"He's the best three-year-old here. I've got no doubt about it," Forster said.
"He's had no luck in a lot of his races because he's never drawn a decent barrier.
"I told Scotty just before the race not to ride him pretty and to ride for luck and look what he's done to them."
Forster felt Adebisi's form had been misleading because of the way he's had to be ridden in the past.
"He's had to be bustled and harassed in his previous starts and you can't do it at both ends," she said.
"It's my third Listed win and I'm thrilled to see this horse finally get the accolades he deserves.
"l'll see how he pulls up but I'd say he'll go around next Sunday in the Vo Rogue Plate.
"He's backed up before when he ran in the TJ Smith as a two-year-old after the Sires' Produce."
Seamer's win was his second victory on the colt from only three rides.
"I last rode him when he ran fifth in the Sires and before that when he won for the first time," Seamer said.
While the accolades were with Adebisi, trainer Tony Gollan felt Spirit Of Boom should have won after jockey Larry Cassidy was forced to go to the front on the Toowoomba three-year-old.
"He was the run of the race and should have won," Gollan said.
"The plan was never to lead like that especially as it was his first run this campaign.
"I can understand what Larry had to do and he was a victim of circumstances when he was caught three wide."
Gollan is looking forward to a return clash with Adebisi in the Vo Rouge Plate.
"We'll see who is the better horse next week. My horse will go a lot better ridden quiet," he said.
