OWNER Alan Craddock is “seriously considering” bringing record-breaking July Cup winner Lethal Force to the Melbourne spring carnival.

Racing Victoria international agent Leigh Jordon spoke to trainer Clive Cox and owner Alan Craddock after the four-year-old completed the Diamond Jubilee-July Cup double at Newmarket overnight, reports Racing Network.

Jordon said Craddock, particular, was “keen” about the prospect of Lethal Force running in the Manikato Stakes and Patinack Farm Classic.

He saidhe  spoke to Cox after Lethal Force won the Diamond Jubilee and there was interest then in coming to Melbourne.

“I spoke to both the owner and trainer after the July Cup and they said they’re seriously considering coming to Melbourne,” Jordon said.

“It’s a pretty big double winning the Diamond Jubilee and July Cup.

“It would be great for an English sprinter to come down. His win in the July Cup was outstanding -- the last 200 metres is like running up a stairwell.

“He is a serious horse.”

Lethal Force, a four-year-old son of Dark Angel, won the Group 1 by one and a half lengths from Society Rock, the horse he defeated in the Diamond Jubilee, with Slade Power three-quarters of a length away third.

And, he erased Stravinsky’s name as the owner of the July course track record.

Lethal Force ran the six furlongs (about 1200 metres) in 1:09.11.

Jordon said he would speak to both Craddock and Cox again later this week after he completed his travels to Ireland and France.
