After tipping the Caulfield Cup quinella/exacta, and getting his eachway bet Fiorente (3rd/9/1) home in the Cox Plate, PPD Club tipster Brian Blackwell was again in winning big-race form on Sunday. BB tipped the Sale Cup winner MOURO $5.50 and named 3rd placegetter RHYTHM TO SPARE as the main danger. Here’s exactly what he told our members:

I’m prepared to give (1) Mouro 5/1 another chance to shine in race 7, the Sale Cup 1600m at Sale on Sunday. The 5YO was given little chance in the running last start when a disappointing 11th/17 to Solzhenitsyn in the Grp 1 Toorak Hdcp 1600m at Caulfield on Oct 12. Caught back and wide to the turn, he had no chance from the top of the straight and Glen Boss let him amble to the line some 5 lens from the winner. It’s a big drop in class from the Toorak to the Sale Cup and this means Mouro gets a 4kgs hike, though I suspect this won’t be enough to cruel his chances. If Nick Hall can give him a good passage (difficult from a wide gate) then Mouro, a strong miler, will be in the frame. The money runner is likely to be the up-and-coming (6) Rhythm To Spare 6/4 who bolted home over a moderate RB90 field at Caulfield 1600m on Oct 16. He drops 3.5kgs and Cox Plate winning jockey Chad Schofield is aboard.
