Southern Shimmer's Sawtell Cup win at Coffs Harbour has set him off on a Cups trail. Not the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, though. He's after the $70,000 Coffs Harbour Cup (1600m) then the $60,000 Taree Cup (2000m). Trainer Ross Stitt reckons the Wagga Guineas winner can reach just about as high as his former stars Heavenly Glow, Youthful Jack and Precise Timing. He says: 'Hopefully, the best from him is yet to come...He came back into work this campaign much bigger and stronger...He's filled out in the right places and is starting to get to where I want him.'
