Mike Moroney has the spring Cups in mind for his impressive import Glass Harmonium after his demolition job on rivals in the 2200m Eagle Farm Cup. MM hasn't ruled out backing up the bold front-running stayer in Sat's Grp 2 2400m Brisbane Cup. Glass Harmonium, the $2.20 fav, was allowed to bowl along in front in the EF Cup to score an emphatic 2 lens win over Shoot Out ($4). It was a superb ride by Lisa Cropp.

Pour Moi landed the Investec Derby at Epsom UK in a thrilling finish to give French trainer Andre Fabre his first victory in the great race. Brilliant young jockey Mickael Barzalona brought the three-year-old from a long way back to snatch the prize close home, but there was a scare for the 4/1 chance's supporters when he stood up in the saddle to celebrate before reaching the finishing line. Pour Moi got home by a head from Treasure Beach, with the Queen's valiant favorite Carlton House a further three-quarters of a length away in third after having every chance, though he was carried wide into the straight and lost a shoe late on.

Epsom executives closed the gates on the Investec Derby festival on Saturday night, with the paying crowd in the grandstands on Saturday up 16 per cent on last year and an estimated overall attendance of 120,000. The Queen's Carlton House might have come up short in the Classic, but Epsom managing director Rupert Trevelyan claimed the royal factor helped add extra numbers.
