Latest news on Hong Kong's big international carnival...French challengers headed by Cirrus des Aigles (Hong Kong Cup), Rajsaman (Hong Kong Mile) and Dunaden (Hong Kong Vase) have got the feel of the Sha Tin turf track. The trio pleased their carers after working on the all-weather track. The highest-rated runner in Sunday's Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International meeting, Cirrus des Aigles arrived with the bulk of the visiting horses last Saturday, and his handler, assistant trainer Jean-Jacques Poincelet, was happy with what he saw yesterday. He says: 'It's his third trip here and it seems to me that he is still changing...He's a bit burlier than last year I think. He's done his usual thing and should work on Thursday.'

Regis Barbedette, travelling head lad overseeing Rajsaman and Silver Pond for Freddie Head, says the two are in good shape, though they have not run since the Arc weekend two months ago. He says: 'Their last race was quite some time ago but they've been to Saint Cloud racecourse for a public gallop since then and they have thrived on that. The travelling went fine as we were all on time...Rajsaman is probably even better than last year when he came over and did very well in the Mile.' Alain de Royer-Dupre has been successful in both the Hong Kong Cup, with Pride, and the Vase with Daryakan, and brings lightly raced three-year-old Vadamar for the Vase.
