The Caspar Fownes-trained My Favorite looks to have everything made to order to ascend successfully into Class Three at the first time of asking in the Hong Kong University Alumni Association Challenge Cup (1,200m) today, says the Racing Post in Hong Kong.

The three-year-old has been seen out just twice, looking good when narrowly defeated by Creative Union on debut, then comfortably downing subsequent winner Joyful Luck last time out over the Sha Tin 1,200m.

Part owned by high-profile canto-pop star Aaron Kwok Fu-shing, My Favorite is ready to follow the pattern of recent weeks, where we have seen quite a few promising three-year-olds roll over their older rivals.

Zac Purton was on board in the latest win, but Tommy Berry, who rode My Favorite at his first start, gets back on the Haradasun gelding and has gate one to boot.

While this race is a rise in grade from those Class Four contests, My Favorite drops down to the base of the handicaps and probably couldn't find a more suitable step into the next level in terms of the personalities.

He is opposed by several lightly raced horses yet to find any sort of form since arriving; a couple more with ability but issues; a new horse from the David Hall yard in News Supreme; and a couple of useful types in fellow three-year-olds Winnie's Horse (Gerald Mosse), Super Jockey (Keith Yeung Ming-lun) and Seasons Star (Andreas Suborics).

If there is a query on My Favorite, it might lie with him tackling 1,200m for the third time, but he has shown enough tactical speed to think it won't hamper him from a good draw.

The race maps with average tempo as Hinyuen Paladin and Winnie's Horse go forward, and My Favorite and Super Jockey take up positions on their backs, which should make it tough for the winner to come from behind that group.
