Hong Kong top liners will be spread far and wide at the end of next month with three runners in Dubai and Green Birdie confirmed to return to Japan with some unfinished business in the Group One Takamatsunomiya Kinen in Osaka. The Caspar Fownes-trained Green Birdie was unlucky in both the Centaur Stakes and Sprinters Stakes in September-October in Tokyo and did not find his best on his return home at the end of 2010.

"He took a while to come back to himself and his coat didn't come right until a week or two before his last run in the Chairman's Sprint," Fownes said yesterday. "And his run in that race told me that he's back on track, so it looks good for the race in Japan with Brett Prebble to ride him."

Derek Cruz said he has also entered Joy And Fun for the race, but a definite start has yet to be firmed up for the race on March 27, the day following the Dubai World Cup meeting where Hong Kong will have Beauty Flash, Dynamic Blitz and Dim Sum as its flag bearers. John Moore also reports stable stars Collection and Able One, not seen since being injured on international day in December, are on the same path of rehabilitation for key events in late April-early May.

"We found a piece of bone had come away near the suspensory on Collection's right foreleg and he just needed some time, but he will be back training on the small track this weekend and aimed at the QE II Cup," Moore said.

"Able One's hip injury has healed, too, and he will join Collection back at the track this weekend with the Champions Mile his goal. The good news is they will get over the injuries they had."
