Classic crop gallopers All You Wish and Designs On Rome are sure to have plenty of memorable clashes ahead of them but All You Wish should maintain an unbeaten record over his rival in the Chevalier Cup (1,600m) at Sha Tin, reports the HK Racing Post.

The two horses met in June when Designs On Rome (Karis Teetan) was having his first outing in Hong Kong, and the John Moore-trained gelding caught a bump at the start before working home for second.

He was beaten only half a length that day, although Douglas Whyte was very kind to All You Wish over the final stages of the race when the favourite had the race well won.

The horses meet on the same weight terms Sunday, with each having won a race and finished fourth in the meantime, yet the main factor in favour of Dennis Yip Chor-hong-trained All You Wish does look to be the weight difference.

In the months ahead, these two will clash, along with the other leading four-year-olds, at level weights in a race like the Classic Mile and will likely be well matched under those conditions, so a small weight edge one way or the other between these classy future stars looks important.

All You Wish has won most of his races at 1,400m and hasn't been tested at a mile yet but his fast-finishing fourth over 1,400m first up left Whyte convinced that the gelding needs at least 1,600m to show his real form now that he is maturing.

All You Wish has had plenty of work and an excellent trial in preparation for this, so he won't lack the right condition to run it right out even though he hasn't raced for two months.

His gate six draw is slightly awkward in a field of nine where the affair seems to lack much pace, with only Business As Usual and Penglai Xianzi forward runners.

Any tempo will depend on whether they become competitive for the front.
